Geo Tracks Supports Mental Miles

Geo Tracks Supports Mental Miles, the incredible story of four friends taking on an impressive challenge in support of mental health.

At 6am on the 26th March 2022, friends Liam, Gus, Peter and Jack set off from Land’s End, starting their astounding challenge - an expedition conquering the length of Great Britain. The team aimed to complete a non-stop running relay from Land’s End to John O’Groats, a huge 930 mile route in just under seven days, and were successful in doing so. In a record breaking 6 days, 6 hour and 27 minutes, the lads completed their adventure, and raised a whopping £30,000 for charity!

This challenge raised money for Sport in Mind, a mental health charity in partnership with the NHS. Sport in Mind aims to improve the mental and physical wellbeing of those struggling most using sport and physical activity, and gives close help those experiencing challenging mental health barriers.

After the death of Pete’s father, Paul, in February 2020 to mental ill-health, a man who was very close to and admired by the group, Pete aimed to raise awareness and money for a mental health cause in remembrance of his father. This event meant that Pete and his friends could raise awareness and break stigmas surrounding mental health. After the death of Paul, they created a positive impact on the public by supporting an important charity that gives great help to those who need it most.

Although this amazing expedition was a great struggle, the four men never gave up, and by using their uttermost perseverance and drive, they completed the challenge. Despite having to sleep and eat from campervans on the road, having little rest and comfort, the team stayed positive and inspired throughout. Luckily, the public were able to see this incredible progress that the group made, which was made possible by their partnership Geo Tracks, who sponsored the event free of charge. Geo Tracks provided a live tracking map for the event, meaning the public could view the progression of the group from their own devices. This technology meant that family and friends could ensure the men were safe, and the public could champion the group from afar.

Geo Tracks continues to support inspirational challenge events like Mental Miles with the aim of promoting these brilliant causes to the public. Their GPS tracking technology can ensure events run smoothly and promote safety through their cost effective and reliable tracking solutions. Geo tracks believe that events like Mental Miles deserve their support as they have such a positive cause, and by using their technology can allow these events to run with ease.

Months on, Mental Miles continues to have an outstanding impact. Their impressive achievements are still being recognised, with their effect on mental health staying continuous. What these four young men have achieved and the work they continue to do is highly appreciated, and continues to inspire us all!
